Honeymoon in the Wild

DAY 1
ARRIVAL – ANTANANARIVO
Guests are welcomed on arrival by their guide in Antananarivo and transferred to their hotel for the night. La Maison Gallieni is in heart of the historic district of the capital, at a high point of Antananarivo which offers a magnificent view of the city. The hotel has a beautiful garden and guests can enjoy dinner at the restaurant.

DAY 2
ANTANANARIVO – FORT DAUPHIN – IFOTAKA
Guests are transferred to the airport and board a flight to Fort Dauphin, in the extreme south of Madagascar. From the airport, guests take their private transfer to the small town of Amboasary. From here, they then head to Mandare River Camp in time for lunch and where they will spend the next 2 days, in an en-suite tent are located in the cool shade of tamarind trees. The river is the lifeblood of the region and sustains the nearby Antandroy village of Ifotaka and its sacred ancestral forests.

DAY 3 – 4
MANDRARE RIVER CAMP
The camp offers a variety of activities for guests to choose from. A local guide will accompany them to the amazing gallery forest where they can see the Catta and Sifaka lemurs up close. Visit of the Antandroy tribe’s village and sunset on the Mandrare River. The afternoons are devoted to relaxing by the pool in this exceptional environment. Romantic lantern-lit dinner on the banks of the Mandrare River.

DAY 5
IFOTAKA – FORT DAUPHIN
After breakfast, guests return to Fort Dauphin, where they spend the day at leisure, enjoying the town. They can enjoy lunch at a restaurant (for own account). The Talinjoo Hotel is located in front of Libanona Bay, on the hillside as it drops in the Indian Ocean. Each room has a private wooden terrace where guests can watch the sun set on Libanona beach.

DAY 6 – 9
FORT DAUPHIN – SAINTE LUCE
After breakfast, guests board their transfer to the village of Sainte Luce, north of Fort Dauphin. The Manafiafy Beach and Rainforest Lodge welcomes guests for the second part of their honeymoon, this time by the sea. The lodge has a unique location between the rainforest, the ocean and breathtaking mountain scenery. This allows guests to experience a variety of activities during their stay.

Whether it’s exploring the wildlife-filled rainforests with a guide to see the critically endangered species that live there, take a guided kayak or motorboat to explore the coastal habitats, or the visit the Antanosy tribe’s local village to experience their way of life, there is something for everyone.

One evening, guests will depart at around 5pm depart for a night walk in the forest, and then return to enjoy a lantern-lit dinner on their private terrace with a personalized gift.

Day 10
FORT DAUPHIN – ANTANANARIVO
DEPARTURE
Guests take an early departure from the lodge to Fort Dauphin to board the domestic flight to Antananarivo, where they are greeted at the airport and assisted with their outbound flight.
